Paul Renner Victorious in Republican Primary in Special Election for House District 24

Palm Coast, Fla. – Among family, friends, supporters and volunteers at his Primary Election Night Watch Party, Republican Candidate Paul Renner emerged victorious in today’s Republican Primary in the special election for Florida House District 24.

“It has been a great privilege to meet so many members of our community during this campaign,” said Renner. “One thing is clear: Republican voters are looking for conservative leadership and that is what I intend to provide if elected on April 7, in the general election.”

“Separately, I want to extend thanks to our fellow Republican candidates, Ron Sanchez and Danielle Anderson,” said Renner. “A primary campaign is always a family affair and they both ran good, strong campaigns centered on ideas that we all share. Now that the primary is over, we have the opportunity to join together and promote those ideas in a united campaign against our general election opponent.”

“As we approach the general election, we will continue to share ideas with voters on how we can best promote economic growth and jobs, expand opportunity for everyone, and maintain and improve our great quality of life,” concluded Renner.

Since announcing his candidacy for House District 24, Renner has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association (NRA), Unified Sportsmen of Florida, former House Speaker Will Weatherford, State Attorney R.J. Larizza, Sheriff Ben Johnson, Sheriff David Shoar, Northeast Florida Builders and Contractors, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, Florida Chamber of Commerce, Florida Medical Association, Florida Nurses Association, Florida Right to Life, National Federation of Independent Business, Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida and the Associated Builders and Contractors of the First Coast Florida Retail Federation.

He served 23-years in the U.S. Navy on both active duty and in the reserves, including deployments in support of combat operations during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and in Afghanistan in 2011. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal, among others. He also served as an assistant state attorney, earning a strong reputation for his successful efforts to prosecute serious felony offenses.
