Every student deserves a high-quality education, and every parent deserves the right to choose the education that best suits their child. That’s the foundation of educational freedom, and it’s central to Florida’s long-term success. Building on Florida’s legacy as a national leader in school choice for more than two decades, Paul led the charge to expand opportunity for every student, regardless of race, income, background, or zip code.

In 2023, because of his leadership, the Legislature passed the largest expansion of school choice in the nation. House Bill 1 unlocked universal school choice for all 2.9 million school-aged children in Florida and empowered parents with customizable learning options tailored to their child’s unique needs and goals. The bill prioritized scholarships for low- and middle-income families and ensured that every student with a unique ability could finally access the educational support they need by eliminating the wait list.

Paul believes competition and choice drive excellence and improve all of our schools. By putting parents in charge and giving students real options, Florida is raising the bar, boosting outcomes, and proving that educational freedom is the key to a brighter future.
