Property Tax Relief That Protects Homeowners
Immediate rollback of property taxes to the 2024 level. This does not require a Constitutional Amendment. The Legislature can do this before Christmas of this year and give every property owner and homeowner a much needed tax break!
By far the most important measure is the immediate rollback.
Some additional measures that coud also benefit Floridians include the following:
o Cap future taxes to ensure government cannot grow faster than Floridians’ incomes.
o Require 2/3 supermajority vote of local government for any new or increased tax or fee with subsequent referendum, for voters to approve or reject measure.
o Protect seniors through property tax abatement (Save Our Seniors).
o Property tax protection for first-time homebuyers.
o Offer voters a plan to fully eliminate homestead property taxes while protecting funding for essential local services such as public safety and schools.
o Stop private equity from buying up homes and raising prices.
