Florida’s natural beauty is one of our greatest treasures and one of our greatest responsibilities. From crystal-clear springs and beautiful beaches to vast wetlands and coastal estuaries, our environment draws visitors from around the world and inspires millions of Floridians to call this state home.
As Speaker, Paul supported meaningful steps to protect Florida’s waterways and preserve our unique natural environment for generations to come. Every decision was made with one goal in mind: to leave Florida better than he found it. That commitment was reflected in record support for the Everglades, water quality grants to cities and counties, and Florida Forever. He was an architect and champion of the Florida Wildlife Corridor, strengthening habitats and allowing native wildlife to move more easily throughout the state.
In 2024, he partnered with then Senate President Kathleen Passidomo to create the Compact to Conserve, a bold, bipartisan initiative that dedicated proceeds from the Seminole Gaming Compact to water quality improvements, land management, and conservation easements. This commitment not only honored the Seminole Tribe’s deep connection to the land, but represented a generational investment in Florida’s long-term environmental health. Transactional politicians in the legislature have recently ended this program so the money can be spent on special interest projects. As Governor, Paul will restore what amounts to nearly a billion dollar annual commitment to our environment.
He believes that conservation and economic prosperity go hand in hand. By protecting what makes Florida special today, we ensure that future generations can live, work, and raise families in a state defined by both natural beauty and the quality of life we have come to love here in Florida.
