Government Efficiency

The Florida Way means jealously guarding taxpayer money and delivering results that prioritize Florida families, not government bureaucracy.

As Speaker, Paul championed policies to make government leaner, more accountable, and focused on what actually delivers value. That includes eliminating wasteful programs that no longer serve the public interest.

For example, Enterprise Florida, Inc., had long over-promised and under-delivered, draining taxpayer dollars to fund corporate welfare in an effort to lure companies to a state that’s already among the most business-friendly in the nation. Paul and his colleagues shut it down and redirected those resources toward policies that benefit all businesses, especially those built right here in Florida.

Paul also called for the elimination of administrative bloat in higher education, redirecting funds away from bureaucracy and back toward the core missions of teaching, research, and student success. He believes taxpayers and students alike deserve a system where resources are used efficiently and directed toward meaningful outcomes, not wasted on unnecessary overhead.

Paul will demand the government operate with the same financial discipline required of families and small businesses, keeping only what is necessary to serve the public and cutting or eliminating what doesn’t.
