Protecting Our Institutions from Political Activism

Paul has been a consistent leader in pushing back against the left’s efforts to politicize our educational and financial institutions.

While serving as Speaker, he took bold action to dismantle the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) bureaucracies that had turned many college campuses into echo chambers. Under the banner of “diversity,” these programs demanded conformity of thought. Under “equity,” they prioritized group identity over individual achievement. Paul supported legislation to defund DEI initiatives and refocus higher education on its true purposes: open inquiry, critical thinking, and merit-based opportunity.

He also led the charge to end the use of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment strategies in Florida. These politically driven practices raised costs, threatened national security, and bypassed democratic accountability. Paul and his legislative colleagues ensured that state investments are guided by sound financial principles, not activist agendas, protecting Floridians’ pensions, savings, and economic future.

Paul remains committed to preserving the integrity of Florida’s institutions. He will continue to champion policies that promote free thought, reward merit, and keep political agendas out of our classrooms and investment strategies. Under his leadership, Florida will remain a place where common sense and excellence prevail.
