Public Safety

The first obligation of government is to ensure public safety. As Speaker of the Florida House, Paul championed policies that supported law enforcement, cracked down on violent crime, and ensured first responders have the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.  

Paul believes that when we stand with those who protect us, we create safer communities and open the door to greater opportunity for every Floridian. His record reflects a clear and consistent commitment to back the blue, uphold the rule of law, and keep public safety a top priority. 

Paul also advanced legislation to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. The Florida Way respects the Second Amendment and the right of Floridians to defend themselves, their families, and their property. By cutting through bureaucratic red tape, Paul and his colleagues ensured that eligible citizens no longer need a government-issued permission slip to carry a firearm for self-defense.

While these efforts have made Florida safer and freer, Paul knows the job isn’t finished. He remains committed to policies that support law enforcement, reduce crime, and uphold the rights and responsibilities of every Floridian.
