It’s Monday and it is apparent Congressman Donalds has found comfort this week hiding in the Washington swamp as questions continue to swirl around the future of his close friend and ally Representative Cory Mills.
Congress is said to have a process, and that process is often used to stall, deflect, and wait for the headlines to move on.
According to recent reporting, Rep. Cory Mills is under a House Ethics Committee investigation tied to allegations that include scrutiny over possible assault claims, financial improprieties, and a broader ethics probe that has yet to reach resolution. Mills is part of a wave of scandals already forcing other members to resign under the threat of expulsion.
This is where the ducks come in…since Rep. Mills is Congressman Donalds’ buddy, the press and voters should be calling for accountability asking:
Congressman Donalds, your silence on Rep. Cory Mills’ disgusting behavior is deafening, and your lack of urgency when the rules apply to one of your own is downright shameful.
At what point does “due process” stop being accountability and start being a waiting game for voters to forget? Will you join your opponent Paul Renner in calling for the immediate resignation of Congressman Cory Mills or continue to stand by Mills as he puts another GOP Congressional seat at risk with his improper and illicit behavior?
Dragging out the process isn’t caution. It’s choreography. Voters are smart enough to know the difference.
