PALM COAST, FL— Today, Paul Renner for Governor released the following statement regarding the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Florida (CAIR-FL) hosting the 2026 Muslim Day at the Capitol:
“Radical ideologies of any kind pose a serious threat to public safety, democratic institutions and the rule of law. Groups, secular or non-secular, that fuel political violence and promote extremism have no place in government.
“We have seen Muslim-Sharia ideology take hold in Europe, the result has been instability, intimidation and attacks on democratic norms. I wholeheartedly stand against this!
“I do, however, stand firmly for the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. I oppose any attempt to introduce or give influence to foreign terrorist systems — including Sharia — in our courts or our government. Our legal framework must remain based on individual rights and equal justice under the law.
“I stand with Governor DeSantis naming Muslim groups, like CAIR, ‘foreign terrorists’. As Governor, I will never allow them to take toehold here in our state, and I will take any legal means to get them out. This is not a matter of partisan disagreement — it is a matter of protecting our Republic, rejecting political extremism, and standing firmly for our Judeo-Christian heritage.”
