With allegations continuing to mount regarding Cory Mills, Floridians should seriously consider what real leadership looks like.
In 2025, in the wake of serious allegations and accusations against Congressman Cory Mills, his former roommate Byron Donalds described the allegations as “very troubling,” but then punted on accountability saying, “When any other members have been involved in stuff like this, my advice is the same. They need to actually spend a lot more time in the district and take stock of what’s going on at home, and make that decision with their voters.”
Talk about a word-salad-dodge.
Meanwhile, it is months later, even more revelations have come forth to the point that Cory Mills’ remaining in Congress is now imperiling the ability of Republicans to hold on to Congress. Yet, Byron still says nothing.
Therefore, inquiring minds want to know:
Congressman Donalds: what does real leadership look like— standing shoulder to shoulder with political allies when it’s convenient, or stepping up when it’s not?
At what point does ‘let the ethics process play out’ become less about principle and more about political self-preservation?
Will you join your fellow candidate Paul Renner in calling for Cory Mills’ resignation?
The people of Florida deserve more than cautious statements and political calculation from their next governor.
