Attorney, Naval Officer earns endorsement of respected House Speaker, Will Weatherford
(Palm Coast, Fla.) – Republican Candidate Paul Renner today announced that former House Speaker Will Weatherford (R-Wesley Chapel) has endorsed him in his special election campaign for Florida House District 24, which will be held on January 27, 2015.
“I am happy to announce my endorsement of Paul Renner in his bid for House District 24,” said Speaker Weatherford. “He is a proven leader who will fight for less government and free enterprise, as he understands government should not be too large or overly burdensome on its citizens. And, I am certain that if the residents of House District 24 elect Paul, he will staunchly oppose the Medicaid expansion proposed in Obamacare.”
“I am humbled to receive the endorsement of Speaker Weatherford, who was a skilled leader of the Florida House of Representatives these past two years,” said Renner. “His unwavering opposition to Obamacare and commitment to finding free market solutions to health care policy is a legacy I hope to continue if elected. I firmly believe that government-run health care is not the right direction for the residents of Northeast Florida and citizens across the state.”
Since launching his campaign to represent the people of House District 24, Renner has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Unified Sportsmen of Florida. Florida House District 24 includes Flagler County and parts of St. Johns and Volusia Counties.

About Paul Renner
Renner was raised in Northeast Florida and is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. He served 23-years in the US Navy on both active duty and in the reserves, including deployments in support of combat operations during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and in Afghanistan in 2011. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal, among others. He also served as an assistant state attorney, earning a strong reputation for his successful efforts to prosecute serious felony offenses.
